If your toy fan runs out of power, you can quickly resolve the issue by charging or replacing the batteries.
First Try Charging
If the toy fan uses rechargeable batteries, such as lithium or nickel-metal hydride batteries, connect it to the original charger. Avoid charging for more than 4 hours, as overcharging may shorten battery life. After charging, reinstall the fan and test if it works properly.
Replace with Regular Batteries
If the fan uses AA or AAA batteries, simply open the battery compartment cover, remove the old battery, and replace it with a new battery of the same type. Some children's toys have a design to prevent accidental disassembly; the battery compartment screws may need to be unscrewed with a Phillips screwdriver or a coin. Be careful not to scratch the casing during this process.
Check for Poor Contact
If there is still no response after replacing the batteries, it may be due to oxidation of the battery and contacts. Use a cotton swab dipped in alcohol to wipe the metal contacts inside the battery compartment to remove rust or dirt before reinstalling the batteries and testing. Do not use excessive force during disassembly to avoid damaging the plastic clips.
Toy batteries typically have capacities between 600-1200mAh. For frequent use, nickel-metal hydride rechargeable batteries are recommended, as they can withstand over 500 charge-discharge cycles. Remove the batteries for long-term storage to prevent leakage and corrosion of internal components. Some newer electric fans support USB power; a power bank can be used for temporary power in emergencies.
